Does Marble Need Maintenance?

Does marble need maintenance? Yes, marble maintenance is essential, because it is natural wool stoma. Pollution sources (oil, tea, coffee, coke, soy sauce, ink, etc.) easily follow the wool stoma to penetrate into the stone, forming a nasty stain. Marble maintenance is very important. Therefore, some countries in Europe and the U.S. have marble maintenance procedures that are widely known. The two main aspects of marble maintenance are cleaning and protection. Protective construction methods are mainly divided into two kinds, one kind is marble protection before construction, the other is marble protection after construction.
In the process of marble maintenance, certain principles and matters need attention:
Curing agent of marble selection:
Each stone curing agent has its own characteristics, in a different environment or with a different installation process, there will be a different result. Correctly choosing the right marble curing agent is the key to ensuring the quality of marble maintenance engineering. If the improper one is chosen, not only after the protective construction will the expected results not be seen, but can even make the problem more complicated.

1. Choose marble maintenance according to the requirements of what the customer wants to protect. If the customer is to prevent whiskering, rust, etc., generally USES organic silicon type marble curing agent is best. If it is in order to improve the comprehensive carrying capacity and water, general organic fluorine marble curing agent must be used.
2. The maintenance of the compact structure of some marble suggests using an oily marble curing agent. Oily marble curing agents are strong, and can penetrate further into the marble. For general marble structure, an oil and water curing agent can be used.
3. If maintaining marble in an easily polluted place such as the dining-room or kitchen stove, an organic fluorine marble curing agent should be used in order to improve resistance to marble fouling.
4. When maintaining outdoor marble, choose an organic silicon type curing agent. However, it requires product uv resistance, water resistance and acid resistance
5. Maintenance for wet stick or grouting installations of marble suggests a special curing agent as an alternative. But one should also pay attention to the alkali resistance of curing agent, to make sure it does not influence the marble adhesive fastness with cement.
6. For rough marble maintenance treatment on the membrane surface, organic raw silicon as a membrane type should be used as a marble curing agent. This product has good sturdy, has a high bonding strength, and does not easily turn yellow. Acrylic acid as a raw material should not be used on the sealant; this product is mainly used for the bottom seal. It can cause the marble surface to peel and become discolored.
